Display your Art - Terms

This is not just a shelf. This is a small artist-run space where we try to build something together 💜

About the concept

We created this space because we know how hard it is to get visibility as an artist. Not everyone can afford their own store, and conventions are not always accessible.

Our goal is to create a small permanent Artist Alley in Trier, where artists can sell their work offline in a real store environment.

This only works if we all put effort into it. We grow together or not at all 💜

How it works

  • You apply for a shelf

  • You send or bring your products
  • We sell them in-store
  • You receive your payout after the month ends
By signing the contract, you agree to pay. This is a binding agreement.

Who is this for?

You should be willing to promote your shelf. Share it, talk about it, and let your community know where they can find your work.

This is not passive income. If you do not promote your art, you will most likely sell less.

Kallax Shelf Options

Billy Top shelves are intended for large items such as plushies or pillows. Small items are not suitable for Billy Top shelves because they are harder to reach and may fall down.

Pricing guide 💜

This is not a strict rule, but a helpful guideline based on common prices in Germany and Europe.

  • Art stickers: usually around 2–3€
  • EXTRA Larger stickers or shaped designs: around 4–6€
  • Keychains: usually around 10–12€
  • A5 prints: around 6–8€
  • A4 prints: around 10–12€
Products that are much higher than these price ranges may be harder to sell in our store. Please keep this in mind when applying.

Products must be genuinely created by you. Using original artwork, official character images or copied images inside handmade products is not allowed, because it is unfair to artists who create and draw everything themselves.

Important rules

No commissionWe only charge a monthly processing fee for maintaining the presentation area and handling the operational processes. This is not a rental or subletting arrangement. We do not take any commission on your sales.
No jewelry Jewelry is excluded  because we sell our own self-designed hypoallergenic jewelry line in store. Our jewelry is high quality, partly 18k gold-plated, and connected to our own repair and customization service.
No AI / no reselling / no non-selfmade products AI-generated content, AliExpress-style reselling and non-selfmade items are not allowed. Products must be genuinely created by you.

Display option

A display usage option is available for 4€ per month. If selected, a suitable display solution will be prepared based on your Art.

Barcode & labelling

Barcodes can be placed on the back of the items.
If you choose the barcode service (10€ fee), all items must be properly packaged so that barcodes can be applied without damaging the product.

If items are not packaged, I reserve the right to place the barcode sticker directly onto the product. I am not liable for any damage caused by this, and no compensation will be provided.

Alternatively, I reserve the right to not barcode or display items at all while still charging the barcode fee, if proper packaging is not provided.

Prices must be clearly visible on each item, preferably on the front.
Every item must have a price ,items without a price will not be put up for sale.

If items are delivered without pricing, I will label them myself and charge an additional 5€ pricing fee.


Barcode service

If you cannot create or attach your own barcodes, you can book our barcode service for a one-time fee of 10€. We will generate barcodes based on your submitted product list and label your items for you.

Barcodes can be placed on the back of items.
All items must be properly packaged so that barcode stickers can be applied without damaging the product.

If items are not packaged, I reserve the right to place barcode stickers directly onto the product. I am not liable for any damage caused by this, and no compensation will be provided.

If items are not suitable for barcoding (e.g. due to missing packaging), I reserve the right to not label or display them, while still charging the barcode service fee.


GPSR complianceCandles, plushies, and similar products must be fully GPSR-compliant and properly labelled before being offered for sale.
All required information, including full ingredient lists (where applicable) and safety warnings, must be clearly visible on the product or its packaging.

Shelf damage & residue

Displays, stickers, tape, or other materials may only be used if they can be removed completely by hand without leaving any residue. If your setup leaves residue, causes damage to the shelf, or cannot be removed cleanly, a processing fee for cleaning and restoration of the affected shelf will be charged.

Damage fee payment If a damage or residue fee applies, it may be deducted directly from your final payout if your balance is high enough. If not, an invoice will be issued. Items can only be picked up or shipped after the fee has been paid.
Payment terms After signing the contract, the invoice must be paid within 14 days. Items will only be placed in the store after full payment has been received.

Monthly participation & convention closures

Shelf spaces are provided on a monthly basis. We are also artists and may occasionally close the store on weekends due to conventions or events. These possible closures are already reflected in the low monthly participation fee.

Duration & extensions

We strongly recommend booking the full period instead of extending month by month. Extensions are possible but not guaranteed, and previous participants are not given priority.

You are not required to send all items for the full 3-month period at once. Restocking is allowed at any time. However, the barcode service fee will apply again for newly added items if you do not provide your own barcodes.

All additional stock must fit within the allocated shelf space. Items that do not fit must not exceed the volume of a standard sports shoe box. Items exceeding this limit may be refused or returned at the participant’s expense.


Shipping, return shipping & pickup

Drop-off

You can bring your products to the store in person. In this case, no shipping box is required.

Shipping to us

If you ship your items, you are responsible for shipping costs and for making sure the items arrive safely before your rental starts.

Return shipping

You can bring your products to the store in person. If you ship your items, you are responsible for both shipping and return shipping costs.

If we organize return shipping, the cost will be deducted from your final payout.
If the final payout does not cover the return shipping costs, an invoice will be issued. Items will only be shipped back once the invoice has been fully paid.

If the invoice is not paid within the specified timeframe, I reserve the right to retain the items.
After 6 months of non-payment, I reserve the right to keep and sell the items in order to recover the outstanding amount. Pricing of these items will be at my discretion to settle the debt as quickly as possible.

Insufficient payout balance

If your final payout is not enough to cover return shipping or other outstanding costs, an invoice will be issued. Items will only be shipped or released after payment.

Unclaimed parcels

If a parcel is not picked up and gets returned to us, all additional costs, including resending, must be paid by the artist.

Convention handover

If you attend the same convention as us after your participation period, you may arrange handover or pickup there. Your full shelf setup must be easily transportable and manageable without requiring large boxes.

International applications

Applications from within the European Union are preferred.

Payments outside the EU

If you apply from outside the EU, payouts may be collected and transferred at the end of the period. You must provide PayPal or cover additional international bank transfer fees.

DDP shipping

All shipments from outside the EU must be sent using DDP, Delivered Duty Paid. All customs, import VAT and fees must be prepaid by you.

We will refuse parcels that require us to pay additional costs upon delivery.

Payout & sales overview

Payout

Payouts are processed after the end of the month. Your earnings will be transferred no later than the 15th of the following month.

Sales overview

Your sales overview will show which items were sold. During the active period, we do not provide ongoing individual item counts.

No sales guarantee

We do not guarantee sales. Your success depends on product fit, pricing, presentation, customer interest and your own promotion.

Please include a product list with your shipment or when setting up.

Barcode rules

  • Each product type gets one barcode.
  • All identical items use the same barcode.
  • The barcode must be listed in your product list and attached to the product.
  • Barcodes must be unique and clearly identifiable.
  • Please do not use generic codes like 1, 2, 3 or similar.
  • You may use your own barcode system if it follows a clear and structured format.

Legal terms

Contract

Signing the contract means you are legally obligated to pay the agreed processing fee.

No withdrawal

There is no right of withdrawal after signing the contract.

Liability

We handle products with care, but we are not liable for loss, theft or damage unless required by law.

VAT

Rental invoices are issued according to the applicable tax rules. If VAT applies, it will be shown on the invoice.

Final note 💜

This is a creative space. Please respect it, respect the other artists, and respect the idea behind it.

If you have any questions, feel free to email us anytime.

Display & setup handling You are welcome to send a reference photo or setup idea for your shelf. This is helpful and appreciated. However, we reserve the right to arrange and display your products in the way that works best for the store, the shelf layout, customer accessibility and overall visual presentation. If products are shipped to us, please understand that the final setup may not look exactly like your reference photo. We will always try to arrange everything as nicely and carefully as possible, but adjustments may be necessary depending on the actual shelf space, product amount, displays and store layout.
